The Visitor Center’s staff is eager to welcome you to UMD’s beautiful campus. Its team of knowledgeable undergraduate students can provide you with any information you need to make your visit enjoyable and memorable. Other services in the Visitor Center include videos and exhibits, such as a model residence hall room to give prospective students a close-up look at dorm life.

Terrapin Tours

Get a student-led perspective of campus, offered Monday through Friday at 10 a.m. and noon. Tours meet in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions on the main floor of the Rossborough Inn, next to the Visitor Center. A video about UMD is shown 15 minutes before tours. Tours are not offered on university holidays, and reservations are encouraged.

My Maryland Information Sessions

Attend a group session with an admission representative, followed by a tour. Offered on most weekdays and Saturdays. Reservations required.

Visit Maryland Day

Talk to faculty, meet current students, take a campus tour and learn about Maryland’s academic and student services on Monday, Oct. 10, 2016. Reservations encouraged.

Terp for a Day

Meet current undergraduates and spend a day attending classes and participating in extracurricular activities. This program is not available in the summer. Reservations are required at least two weeks in advance.

Borrow a Bike

For a unique perspective of Maryland’s campus, travel by bike. Visitors can borrow them for free at the Visitor Center.

If these options don’t fit your schedule, visit the Office of Undergraduate Admissions to talk with an admission counselor. They are available on a walk-in basis Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except university holidays. No reservations required.
